In this trailer for “The Crossing”, unveiled by Metropolitan Films, a group of young people boards a boat piloted by Alban Ivanov. Punitive expedition or life lesson from both sides?
Embark with Alban Ivanov
For Crossing the new film by French director Variante Soudjian, Alban Ivanov and Lucien Jean-Baptiste live together for fifteen days in a boat. The speech is simple: two educators accompany five out-of-school teenagers during a maritime journey. The skipper of the small ship turns against this group of young people. A former BAC cop, he lives with them on an eventful journey, but perhaps a reconciliation one.
It is the third collab between Alban Ivanov, playing the role of the captain, and filmmaker Variante Soudjian. After the comedy Walter and Inseparable with Ahmed Sylla, the director hires the actor again. Very prominent in the landscape of French comic cinema, Alban Ivanov multiplies the appearances on the screens of dark rooms.

From April to June, he is simply showing 5 films. If he plays only a small role in Segpas (released April 20), he is the headliner of The Winner with Joey Starr (April 13) as well as The imaginary doctor (April 27) and Farm Folies (May 11) with Sabrina Ouazani. A busy schedule!
Cruising is fun (or not)
As seems to do with Tenor the next film by Claude Zidi Jr., Crossing binds the different social classes together. By bringing together a former police officer, and a gang of young dropouts and rebels from the suburbs. Confrontations escalate behind closed doors where everyone has to live with the other. And that is also with the two educators, Lucien Jean-Baptiste and Audrey Pirault, who play the mediators. The first takes in passing a huge slap in the trailer (in one article).
Gradually, relationships change. Each other gets to know each other. Laughter and emotions are planned. Embarked together against their will, the skipper and these young people in the midst of a teenage crisis will most certainly see each other in a different light at the end of this life lesson.
The crossing will be released on June 29 in French cinemas.
