A team of thieves, including ex-military Tokyo, unites under the leadership of a genius known as The Professor to plan an unprecedented heist, stealing money that doesn’t exist yet! If that sounds familiar, check out Netflix’s cool Korean version of the hit series La Casa De Papel. The first trailer from the series is finally on the air. The K-drama remake “La Casa De Papel: Korea” begins June 24.
At the center of the issue is the Joint Security Zone, where Korea is on the verge of unification, a mint where North and South Korea separate, which becomes the focus of action. However, despite people’s hopes of unification, it seems that only the rich get richer. The only thing standing between the gangsters and their trophy is a joint task force led by a South Korean negotiation expert and a North Korean agent.
The new show was directed by Kim Hong-sun and produced for Netflix by BH Entertainment and Zium Content. Writer Ryu Yong-jae said, “I was intrigued by the premise of the remake. Because it is not only about the conflict between thieves and the police, but also adds new layers of tension, mistrust and cohesion between North and South Korea.” said.
