So it’s official, we know the name of the next actor who will play Daredevil in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Unsurprisingly, it will be Charlie Cox, who will therefore remain the face of the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen.
Daredevil: Charlie Cox will remain in character
Kevin Feige, the big boss of Marvel Studios, has officially just confirmed (via Screenrant) that Charlie Cox will stay in the role of Daredevil. The comedian took on the role of the blind vigilante in 2015, on the occasion of the first season of series Daredevil on netflix. After three seasons and one appearance in the series The Defenders, Marvel and Netflix have canceled all these series, leaving the various interpreters of these characters in doubt and in the dark.
While it was clear that Charlie Cox was not going to return for a Season 4 of Daredevil, fans began to wonder. The spectators began to make their voices heard: Charlie Cox must return as the vigilante of Hell’s Kitchen in the MCU! Kevin Feige ended up hearing these prayers and so comes to formalize the return of Charlie Cox as Daredevil.
But for which film?
In a recent interview with Cinemablend, Kevin Feige has confirmed that Marvel Studios will choose Charlie Cox to play Daredevil if the character were to appear in the future. It should therefore be noted that a future appearance of the blind superhero in the MCU has yet to be confirmed. Marvel Studios’ big boss simply said that no character overhaul is expected. If the MCU needs Daredevil, they’ll call Charlie Cox back:
If you were to see Daredevil in upcoming productions, Charlie Cox would be the actor as Daredevil. Where, when, and how, it all remains to be seen.
But this kind of statement suggests, however, that the character could return in the near future. Daredevil has been the center of attention since the end of the Netflix series. It has been rumored for some time that the blind hero could appear in Spider-Man: No Way Home to defend Peter Parker. But also in the series She-hulk, alongside Jennifer Walters, also a lawyer. Another suggestion, a short appearance in the series Hawkeye currently broadcast on Disney +, cannot be excluded.
Indeed, some rumors announce the upcoming appearance of the Kingpin in Jonathan Igla’s show. And who says Wilson Fisk, necessarily says Daredevil. In any case, this is excellent news, for the fans of course, but also for Charlie Cox, who loves the role of Matt Murdock. And if the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen is not rebooted, there is also still a chance for other Marvel / Netflix characters. So does the MCU plan to bring back Jon Bernthal as Punisher, Mike Colter as Luke Cage, Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, and Finn Jones as Iron Fist? The future will tell…
