Animation and comedy movie “Karagöz: Yâr Bana Bir Entertainment” will be released this week.
Produced by Yedirenk İletişim with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and in partnership with TRT, the movie “Karagöz: Yâr Bana Bir Entertainment” is getting ready to meet the audience in cinemas as of August 26.
Karagöz and Hacivat, who have been making the audience think while making them laugh for centuries, appear before the audience by taking the power of the developing and enriching visual technology into account, taking into account the spirit of the time. Bilal Arıoğlu and İsrafil Kuralay are the producers of the film, which was completed in 3.5 years and will be transferred to the big screen with an animation for the first time, and Murat Karahüseyinoğlu is the director.
Apart from Karagöz and Hacivat, there are master names in the voice cast of the film, in which around 80 animated characters are used. Karagöz is voiced by Yetkin Dikinciler and Hacivat is voiced by Altan Erkekli; Nilgün Kasapbaşoğlu, the wife of Karagöz, Mazlum Kiper as Mestan, Selçuk Kipçak as Tuzsuz Deli Bekir, Zeynep Önen as Jazz Girl, Bora Sivri as Cazu Son, and Asuman Barnak as Nuridil.
Director Murat Karahüseyinoğlu took lessons from the masters of shadow plays Hayal-i Torun Çelebi and Tuncay Tanboğa for the film, some of which were animated in Iran and some in India. With the project, which was prepared by staying true to the original Hacivat-Karagöz tradition, it is aimed to make this culture known to wider masses.
