Kaamelott’s DVD-Blu-Ray – First part is finally out and with it, an audio commentary provided by Alexandre Astier in the company of two of his children. The opportunity for fans to glean more information behind the scenes of the film and its characters.
When watching the film, several fans were surprised to see Father Blaise, considered a faithful of the Round Table and of King Arthur, allying with the “traitors” (King Loth and Dagonet) as well as Lancelot , now tyrant of the kingdom of Logres. The director and author explained this apparent turnaround:
There are many people who wonder why Father Blaise is with them (…). For me, it is very clear, (…) it is with its archives. I don’t see why he would drop his archives. All his life is in the basements of Kaamelott.

Father Blaise, King Lot, the Jurisconsult and Dagonet form the council of Lancelot the Tyrant.
Played by Jean-Robert Lombard, Father Blaise has been present since season 1 of Kaamelott, hired by Arthur to record the achievements of the Round Table. He’s the one who, when Arthur is at his worst in the Season 6 finale, goes to his bedside to hear his memories and write his story.
What will become of it now that Kaamelott Castle has partly collapsed and its precious archives perhaps lost? Did he have time to preserve them from the Burgundian siege? The answer will surely be present in Kaamelott – Second part.
