A yet discreet character from “Kaamelott – First part” has more to reveal in the upcoming sequels according to Alexandre Astier.
This article is SPOILER and reveals intrigue points from “Kaamelott – first installment”. Read on at the risk of spoiling the surprises and revelations of the film.
Kaamelott’s DVD-Blu-Ray – First part is finally out and with it, an audio commentary provided by Alexandre Astier in the company of two of his children. The opportunity for fans to glean more information behind the scenes of the film and its characters.
The creator of the saga slipped a rather intriguing comment about the continuation of the Kaamelott saga in the cinema, declaring that a seemingly rather insignificant character from the First installment was going to be of particular importance in the future:
Mevanwi now has a jailer. A key man behind [elle], (…) that we will find, he will follow her in the following episodes, he adores her.
The one who is described in the credits as “the jailer” is embodied by the actor Damien Roux and his few lines in the First part indeed suggest that he is completely devoted to Mevanwi. He serves her faithfully, even with a little zeal when we see the virulence with which he pushes down the insults that fuse towards his Lady.
The innocuous little comment slipped by Alexandre Astier towards this character already allows us to make some hypotheses for the future: will this jailer be ready to sacrifice himself for his queen? Does the fact that he has Kaamelott’s keys allow him to access places known only to certain insiders? Is he Mevanwi’s lover? Does he practice magic like his Lady does on the show?
So many questions that will deserve a second and obviously a third part. In the meantime, you can watch and replay the first one thanks to the currently available DVD-Blu-ray.
