Timothy Olyphant will reprise the role of Raylan Givens in the mini-series “Justified: City Primeval”, a western sequel created by Graham Yost and adapted from the novel by Elmore Leonard.
Seven years after the stop of Justified, Timothy Olyphant will soon be back in the shoes of Marshal Raylan Givens. The American channel FX has just given the green light to a sequel to the famous multi-award-winning series, which will be inspired by the detective novel by Elmore Leonard (The law of the city) and will be titled Justified: City Primeval.
The miniseries will pick up 8 years after the finale of Justified. Raylan Givens, who now lives in Miami, must juggle his life as a US Marshal and his life as a part-time father to his 14-year-old daughter, Winona.
A chance meeting on a Florida highway leads him to Detroit where he crosses paths with Clement Mansell, alias “The Oklahoma Wildman”, a violent sociopath, having escaped the police, who intends to start over.
Dave Andron and Michael Dinner, who were producers of the original series, will be the new writers and showrunners of Justified: City Primeval for the occasion. Timothy Olyphant will also be executive producer alongside Justified creator Graham Yost.
“Justified has been one of the most critically acclaimed series of the last decade and an adaptation of the work of Elmore Leonard which has been brought to life thanks to the interpretation of Timothy Olyphant but also thanks to Graham Yost, producers, writers, directors and other actors” said Eric Schrier, president of FX Entertainment in a press release.
At this time, we don’t yet know which other original cast members will make a comeback in the miniseries. The 6 seasons of Justified are available in France on MyCANAL.
