The 2nd International Diyarbakir Short Film Festival will meet with moviegoers between 12-15 October.
There is very little time left for the 2nd International Diyarbakir Short Film Festival, which will be held with the contributions of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the General Directorate of Cinema and the partnership of the Diyarbakir Governorship and Diyarbakir Metropolitan Municipality. Competition films and honorary awards of the festival, which will meet with moviegoers between 12-15 October, were announced. The jury members who will evaluate the competition films of the 2nd International Diyarbakır Short Film Festival, which will be held within the scope of Diyarbakır Sur Culture Road Festival and organized by Diyarbakır Culture, Art and Cinema Association (DİSİNEDER), have been determined.
Short films will be evaluated by the members of the jury.
Films in the 2nd International Diyarbakir Short Film Festival, supported by Kayapınar Municipality and Sur Municipality; There are 10 films in the competition in three different categories: National Short Fiction, National Short Documentary and International Short Film Competition. Short films that applied to the festival and were selected for the main selection will compete for a total of 15 award statuettes and a prize of 40 thousand TL.
There is a five-person jury team in the category in which fictional short films compete. The head of the jury is director Ömür Atay, who won awards from many festivals with his debut feature film “Brothers”. Among the jury members, Alican Yücesoy, the sought-after award-winning actress of projects such as “Adanalı”, “Princess Sleep”, “February”, “Locman”, “Little Things”, “Another Different” and “Actually You Are Free”; Görkem Yeltan, who started his directorial career with films such as “Snake Story”, “We Fall in Love with You”, “Intruder” and “Little Lady”, as well as the films “We were eating and I decided,” and “Bağcık”; Award-winning actor Erkan Avcı, actor of projects such as “Zenne”, “Pit”, “Muslum” and “Establishment Osman” and It consists of award-winning actress Selin Yeninci, who is known for projects such as “Once Upon a Time in Çukurova”, “Dust Spirit”, “We Are a Fate” and “Arid Days”.
In the category where documentary films compete, there is a jury team consisting of three people. In the jury; President of the Cinema and Television Work Owners Professional Association Mehmet Guleryuzknown by the nickname “The TV Series Doctor”, is a journalist and also a writer. Oya Dogan and Altın Koza Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors and Adana Golden Boll Film Festival General Coordinator Ismail Timucin is located.
Short films in the international category will be evaluated by a three-person jury team. In the International Short Film jury; Director Banu Sıvacı, who won awards from many festivals with her movie “The Pigeon”, which she directed, said:Zenne”, “Drawers”, “Announcement”, “Weasel” and “Tell Me About Your Darkness”, producer Bulut Reyhanoğlu, and director Gözde Kural, who won awards from many festivals with the film “Dust” that she wrote and directed. The results determined by the jury members will be announced at the award ceremony to be held on the evening of October 15th.
Esra Güzel is the coordinator of the 2nd Diyarbakır International Short Film Festival, which will be held under the direction of director and producer Serhat Gönen. In addition, successful actress İpek Tuzcuoğlu, who served as a member of the Board of the Ministry of Culture General Directorate of Cinema Support Board for two years as the representative of the professional association BIROY, and served as the representative of the Ministry of Culture as of 2022, will undertake this year’s consultancy for the festival.
