“Jurassic World Dominion”, which will be released in June, will complete the trilogy that started in 2015. But there may be new Jurassic World movies on the horizon…
Master director Steven Spielberg’s 1993 film Jurassic Park won great acclaim by reintroducing dinosaurs that went extinct millions of years ago and won 3 Oscars. The trilogy was completed with its sequel 1997’s The Lost World: Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park III. However, the impact of the sequels was not as great as the first movie.
Jurassic World, which was released in 2015, started a new trilogy. Directed by Colin Trevorrow and starring Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, the movie was a huge success at the box office. Jurassic World still ranks 6th on the list of the highest-grossing movies of all time.
In 2018, the sequel Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom arrived. The film, which also stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, was directed by JA Bayona. The movie that will end the Jurassic World trilogy will be Jurassic World Dominion, which is scheduled to be released in June 2022. Directed by Colin Trevorrow, the film stars Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt with Sam Neill, Mamoudou Athie, Daniella Pineda, and Laura Dern, who also starred in the original trilogy, and Jeff Goldblum.
Frank Marshall, the producer of Jurassic World movies, said that we will be able to watch more Jurassic World movies in the future, giving news that will please the fans of the series. Director Colin Trevorrow stated that Jurassic World Dominion would end the story of the films Jurassic Park and Jurassic World. But the Netflix series Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous showed that many more stories of this world could be told.
Here’s Frank Marshall’s full statement in an interview with Slash Film: “I think ‘Dominion’ will wrap up this trilogy, but we’re not going to stop and see what the future looks like. We have a great show on Netflix, ‘Camp Cretaceous.’ We want to make quality movies with great writers, directors, and great storytelling, and we definitely want to do more in the world of Jurassic.”
