Bryce Dallas Howard ordered to lose weight
In September 2022, a few months after the release of the feature film, Bryce Dallas Howard reveals that the producers asked him to lose weight before the start of filming. Trying to approach the subject with diplomacy, the actress explains to Subway UK :
How can I tell you that? How to formulate it well? I was asked not to show my natural body in the cinema. On the third film, there were a lot of female leads and Colin strongly defended me when this conversation came up, when they said, ‘We need Bryce to lose weight.
The actress adds:
On the third movie, there were a lot of female characters. And Colin staunchly shielded me from the conversation about my weight that kept coming to the front of the table.
Colin Trevorrow would have argued to the producers that“there are a lot of different women on the planet, so a lot of different women in (the) movie”. Bryce Dallas Howard believes that she would not have been able to perform the physical scenes anyway if she had lost weight. She concludes on this subject:
Plus, I had so many stunts to perform that if I had been on a diet at the time, it wouldn’t have been possible. I’m very happy to have had so many action scenes to shoot, by the way. To have been able to do all this with my body, to show this woman to the maximum of her strength. I hope this will make some understand that it is possible.
