After joining the cast of the next “Fast and Furious”, Jason Momoa has agreed to be the headliner of “The Executioner”, a project about which we know little but which seems to want to offer a rather unexpected mixture.
Jason Momoa has found a new project
With Game of Thrones then his arrival in the DC universe, Jason Momoa became a real star. His popularity is not likely to decrease because he will return to Aquaman for a second solo adventure and will be introduced to the Fast and Furious family with the 10th installment. Excluding large franchises, his name is sufficient for a project to be set up. He notably carried the action film Sweet Girl on Netflix and he is now at the center of a very intriguing new project. Deadline reveals that he will be the headliner of a feature film tentatively titled The Executioner.
We do not know much concrete, for the time being, except that the duo Kaz and Ryan Firpo are in charge of the scenario. The two cousins have been in the spotlight lately for signing the script to The Eternals on behalf of Marvel. Not many people knew them before that and it seems that the two men are making a name for themselves in the industry. There is something to be curious about The Executioner because the concept is described as a mix between At loggerheads and The Lord of the Rings. An unexpected combination of heroic fantasy and a whodunit.
The auctions were disputed
No director is linked to the project but we can already say that it is Warner who managed to win the rights after a long battle. The suitors were numerous to participate in the auction, probably thanks to the presence of Jason Momoa in the casting. However, we do not know for what sum the case was closed. We imagine that the studio saw the potential in the immediate future but also think that there is a way to develop something bigger, like a trilogy or a saga. This is also what was the case for At loggerheads which will have two sequels on Netflix thanks to its success.
