“Aquaman” and “Game of Thrones” star Jason Momoa has officially joined the “Fast & Furious” family. The team formally accepted Momoa into the roster via social media late Friday and shared a post titled “The Fast & Furious Family continues to grow.” Directed by Justin Lin, the movie is tentatively titled “Fast & Furious 10,” and the entire crew is expected to return, including Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Sung Kang, and Charlize Theron.
The movie will be in theaters on May 19, 2023. After directing the third and sixth episodes of the series, Lin returned to the series to direct “F9: The Fast Saga,” which hit theaters last summer. Despite being released early in the Covid-19 pandemic, the movie has grossed $726 million worldwide. The upcoming movie is expected to be the penultimate movie by Toretto and his team, which will be complemented by the 10th and 11th movies.
Momoa will be the latest superstar to join the “Fast” series, which has had its engines running since 2001. Over the years, big names like Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Luke Evans have been involved in action movies. Kurt Russell, Helen Mirren, and John Cena also appeared before the series fans. Before becoming Wonder Woman, Gal Gadot, who starred in Momoa’s “Justice League,” starred in three films, starting with 2009’s “Fast and the Furious.”
Momoa is arguably the most Warner Bros. and Arthur Curry in the DC superhero franchise, alias Aquaman, he also gave notable performances as Duncan Idaho in “Dune” and Khal Drogo in “Game of Thrones.” Furthermore, she has expanded her fan base with the Apple TV Plus series “See”. Earlier this month, the actor wrapped up filming for James Wan’s “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.”
