At the beginning of July, a new dental clinic will open its doors in Tokyo, which wants to take away the fear of visiting the dentist from its patients in a very special way.
Maid instead of nurse
the »Akiba Dental Clinic« is located in Akihabara, the otaku capital in the heart of Tokyo. And what should of course not be missing in Akihabara, colloquially called Akiba by the otaku? That’s right: maids! That’s why there are no nurses in this clinic (yes, it’s actually a real clinic and not a themed café or cosplay club), but maids.
Very few like going to the dentist and many are even afraid of it. The clinic wants to change this fact and make itself a place that people look forward to visiting.
In this context, the clinic advertises not only perfect transport connections and generous opening hours, but also on weekends with other great services. As is usual in all maid establishments, you are warmly welcomed as lord and master and you can also carry out a tooth brushing training session with your chosen favorite maid.
We are curious to see whether this will solve the dentists’ original problem and whether people will be happy to go to dental treatment. What do you think? Would you visit such a dentist?
