Japan: Fast food chain sells "Sailor Moon" sandwiches

As part of a collaboration, the Japanese company offers Mo’s Burger offers official Sailor Moon sausage sandwiches at the traditional time of tsukimi and lunar observation parties in the fall. You can see a commercial about it later in this article.

Inside the tsukimi focaccia sausage sandwich is a “crescent-shaped sausage” seasoned with hickory barbecue sauce. This is accompanied by shredded cabbage and a tsukimi-worthy soft-boiled egg – a real treat!

The sandwich will be available on September 14, 2022 separately for 520 yen each and as part of a set with an edamame corn fries side and a soft drink for 850 yen each Available in all Japanese branches of the Mos Burger chain.

Japanese voice actress Kotono Mitsuishi takes part in the commercial reprises her role as Usagi Tsukino and advertises the sandwich with the words “Tsukimi ni kawatte, oishi yo!” (roughly “In the name of moongazing, it’s delicious!”), appropriately modifying the well-known quote from the series.

The original manga series by Naoko Takeuchi was published in Nakayoshi magazine between December 1991 and February 1997 and was released in 18 volumes in Japanese stores. In Germany, the work was published by Egmont Manga in German, while the anime is available from KAZÉ Anime.
