During the promotion of “Die Can Wait”, Daniel Craig returned to a particular moment in the filming of “Specter”, which saw him break Dave Bautista’s nose.
The promotion of Dying Can Wait, which marks his final appearance in the James Bond tuxedo, is an opportunity for Daniel Craig to return to certain strong moments lived for nearly fifteen years within the saga. At the microphone of IndieWire, the British actor thus evoked the violent fight scene of Specter during which he broke the nose to poor Dave Bautista.
“I kicked Dave and hit him in the nose”, recalls Daniel Craig. “I heard a crackle, I was like ‘Oh my God no!’ And I ran away. I thought he was going to be mad at me but he was lovely.”
Dave Bautista, indeed no more disturbed than that, put his nose back in place and the filming was able to continue almost as if nothing had happened. “Dave is way tougher than I am. I can’t deny it”Craig concludes.
It should be noted that this famous fight scene between Craig and Bautista is also the one which caused a serious knee injury to the interpreter of 007, causing a pause in the shooting. “I ended up on the wall, with a knee that didn’t really respond anymore”, says the actor. “I knew it was a big injury, and it was horrible to go through because you know that if someone has a big injury on a movie like this, it’s bound to be problematic.”
Die Can Wait, the fifth and final installment of the franchise with Daniel Craig as the famous agent, will be released in French theaters on October 6.
