The next James Bond interpreter has not yet been found, but producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson regularly release some information. Latest, an important criterion for the choice of the future actor chosen, which immediately eliminates a whole category of pretenders to the role…
Daniel Craig’s Impossible Legacy
The Craig era was celebrated, and his five films (Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Sky Fall, Spectrum and Dying can wait) have changed drastically the definition of the famous character of James Bond as well as his narration. At the beginning of Dying can wait, James Bond is retired, tired and with a weak knee. At the end of this 25th film, we discover father of a little girl he had with Madeleine Swann (Léa Seydoux). Above all, we discover dead, since he sacrifices himself in the last minutes of this ultimate adventure. An end that clearly divided the public, and which leaves it with a fundamental question. James Bond did have a military background before becoming a 00 agent. clues sown here and there, in 1918 or 1924. In both cases, he already had experience when he obtained his famous license to kill (meaning of registration number 00).
A past that will persist, according to Michael G. Wilson, and therefore close the doors of casting to actors who are too young. In the past, the youngest to take on the role has been George Lazenby (at 29), and the oldest Roger Moore (at 46). Sean Connery was 31 when he started filming James Bond against Dr No. Like Daniel Craig, 37 years old when he turns Casino Royale, the future James Bond should be about as many years old. This considerably reduces the number of potential players who can take over…
