Who will be the next James Bond (and where will we see him)?
Recently, License James bond was partly acquired by Amazon Studios. Indeed, MGM, iconic studio and historic producer of the franchise James Bond, now owned by Amazon. An announcement that quickly worried fans about the future of the films James bond. Will they be released directly on the platform or will they continue to emerge in the cinema? During a recent intervention on the show Today of BBC Radio 4, Barbara Broccoli, emblematic producer of the saga, spoke on the question and was reassuring:
We have always been in favor of a theatrical release. This is our position. Amazon seems to be in the same position. But we’ll see what happens.
The producer also returned to the post Daniel Craig, and on the identity of the next James Bond. Barbara Broccoli then certified that this question will not arise until next year, and that no actor (or actress) will be approached by then:
We want Daniel to have his time of celebration. Next year we will start to think about the future.
Thus, at present, no new actor would be in the sights of production. Obviously, no official statement will be made soon on this issue. In any case by the exit of To die can wait. But with the release of the last opus with Daniel Craig, we are entitled to expect new revelations in the very near future. It is also difficult to imagine, with the filming of To die can wait officially finished since October 2019, that EON productions and the Broccoli family have not already prepared for the future …. So intoxication or announcement of a real break? We will find out soon enough.
