On the sidelines of the release of “Die Can Wait”, and his farewell to the role of James Bond, Daniel Craig has reunited with his predecessors (including Sean Connery and Pierce Brosnan) at the famous Madame Tussauds wax museum.
Wax, yes wax! Since this Thursday, September 30, the day of release of Dying Can Wait in English theaters, Daniel Craig has officially put away the James Bond tuxedo he had owned since his shattering debut in Casino Royale in 2006.
But the actor still proudly wears it in Madame Tussauds’ wax museum in London, where he joined his predecessors in 2015, when 007 Specter was released. Surrounded, from left to right, by Timothy Dalton, Roger Moore, Sean Connery, Pierce Brosnan and George Lazenby, the latest James Bond performer is even a little more forward than the others, in front of the logo of the famous gun barrel, which opens almost all the episodes of the saga.
After twenty-five feature films in nearly sixty years, the most famous spy franchise in the history of cinema is about to turn a new page of its own. Expected on October 6 in our theaters, Dying can wait indeed presents itself as the end of the narrative arc carried by Daniel Craig, to whom it offers a real conclusion.
According to producer Barbara Broccoli, the search for her successor, who would later join her predecessors in the Madame Tussauds museum, will not start before 2022. But it will not be, whatever happens, easy to pass after the one who was much maligned when he was chosen, before getting everyone to agree in a handful of scenes from Casino Royale.
And the costume will be all the heavier to wear as the lucky winner will be… the 007th official interpreter of James Bond in the cinema. The bets are open !
