The German trailer, which has now been released, also shows very clearly that the series will end with a big bang. But beware: The trailer also reveals a major spoiler. So the rule is: Watch at your own risk!
That’s what “Ozark” Season 4 Part 2 is all about
According to showrunner Chris Mundy, “Ozark” was originally planned to end after season five. The extended fourth season is now a kind of compromise to bring the story about the Byrdes to an appropriate end. But anyone who still harbors hopes that Marty (Jason Bateman) and Wendy Byrde (Laura Linney) somehow get out of the whole thing unscathed will probably be taught better very quickly.
Having previously had their hands full reacting to what is happening around them and trying to somehow stay alive, the Byrdes must now decide for themselves in the finale which life is worth fighting for in the first place. Marty and Wendy, for example, are forced to examine the value of their marriage and whether they’re willing to sacrifice everything else for it.
Ruth (Julia Garner) also faces a big decision. Will she let revenge against Javi (Alfonso Herrera) and the Byrdes guide her, or will she accept that Marty was arguably the best family substitute she’s ever had? However, one thing is certain: working with a Mexican drug cartel does not only bring advantages in the long run – and Marty and Co. finally have to find out the hard way.
