Tony Stark aka Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) may be dead, but the legacy of the first MCU hero is still alive Avengers-Universe still after – that was just shown in the first episode “She-Hulk” again. and Tony Stark will also posthumously play an important role in another MCU series – and possibly in very different ways: in “Ironheart”.
Because one thing is clear: Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne), the main character of the series, is inspired by Tony Stark to build his own Iron Man suit and thus becomes the heroine Ironheart. But at the same time Tony Stark could also leave his successor a heavy legacy – in the form of Ezekiel “Zeke” Stane, son of “Iron Man” villain Obadiah Stane (Jeff Bridges).
Rumors of Zeke Stane (possibly played by Alden Ehrenreich from Solo: A Star Wars Story) in “Ironheart” has been around for a while, rumored to be part of a whole group of “Tech Bros’ who act as adversaries for Riri Williams in the series.
In the video above, our Marvel expert and YouTube moderator Sebastian also addresses these rumors about Zeke Stane, but primarily addresses other questions and topics:
Sebastian explains Ironheart’s origin story in the comics and considers how it could be adapted for the MCU. “Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever” plays an important role, of course, where Riri will celebrate her debut. The big question is: is Ironheart set before Black Panther 2 or after? Or maybe even both?
It has been known for a while that “In The Heights” star Anthony Ramos would star in “Ironheart”. It is also known that Ramos’ character will also be important for the future of the MCU. So “Ironheart” won’t be his last appearance – maybe he’ll be back in “Echo” and/or “Daredevil: Born Again”?
Then Thanks to set photos circulating online, we now also know that Ramos is playing the character Parker Robbins, aka The Hood – a villain who has special magical powers thanks to his cloak and boots from a demon and is closely linked to Marvel villain Wilson Fisk (as well as Echo and Daredevil).
The Hood is an unusual choice as an antagonist for Ironheart, but we’re not complaining: far too often, the villains in the MCU have simply been evil reflections of the heroines. A change of pace is very welcome.
While the rumors about Zeke Stane and The Hood are reliable or even confirmed, we have to put a question mark behind the alleged comeback of Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn) in “Ironheart” for the time being. But Agatha as a mentor for The Hood? At least that doesn’t seem entirely illogical.
But after WandaVision, isn’t Agatha trapped in the guise of her nosy neighbor Agnes? Possibly not anymore: After the destruction of the Darkhold and the (apparent?) death of Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) in “Doctor Strange 2” it could well be that the Scarlet Witch’s spell has been broken. And it is also clear:
With an appearance in “Ironheart‘ one could prepare for Kathryn Hahn’s comeback in ‘Agatha: Coven Of Chaos’ (out in late 2023 on Disney+). “Ironheart” will be released on Disney Plus shortly before that, namely in the fall of 2023.
