Surrounded by a prestigious cast, Jérôme Commandeur returns in front of and behind the camera with “Irréductible”. A comedy in which he lends his features to a civil servant who, to avoid resigning, accepts improbable positions in remote places.
Irreducible : Jérôme Commandeur crosses the whole world
six years later My family already adores you!Jérôme Commandeur returns to directing with Irreducible. He also holds the main role of this comedy. That of Vincent Peltier, a happy employee of the town hall of Limoges in the “Waters and Forests” service, who leads a daily life that could not be more peaceful. His existence changes the day when the Ministry of the Economy imposes a reduction in the number of civil servants.

Categorically refusing to resign, Vincent comes under pressure from Isabelle Bailliencourt (Pascale Arbillot), an inspector in the service of Minister Roselyn Bacheron (Gérard Darmon). Despite the increasingly large severance pay she offers him, Peltier proves to be inflexible. So he finds himself sent to Greenland to protect bears researchers from a scientific basis. Against all odds, he takes a liking to this new job, largely because he gets closer to his colleague Eva (Laetitia Dosch).
Three reasons not to miss this comedy
- Irreducible promises the viewer to manhandle his main character and make him travel. The feature film pushes its concept to the end, lugging Vincent Peltier from the expanses of Greenland to the Amazon rainforest. A rare ambition that offers sequences that are both sublime and hilarious. Just to see Jérôme Commandeur recount his misadventures to a tribe reluctant to kill him and confront polar bears, the film is worth the trip.

- From the appearance of the opening credits, where the actor and director thanks the various partners and wish the public a pleasant session, the giggles keep coming. The comedian’s repartee, energy and quirky tone are intact. They recall that he is one of the most talented artists in the French comic landscape. However, Irreducible does not hesitate to sometimes put aside the second degree to develop a touching romance. The story gradually shifts towards a tenderness that takes the comedy to a field that is certainly more consensual, but just as pleasant.
- The last big advantage ofIrreducible is obviously its casting. In addition to the excellent Jérôme Commandeur, Laetitia Dosch and Pascale Arbillot, the feature film benefits in particular from the presence of Valérie Lemercier, Estéban and Gérard Darmon. Special mention to Christian Clavierperfect as an SNCF trade unionist who encourages Vincent to hold on.
Irreducible is to be discovered in cinemas from June 29, 2022.
