The seven episodes of “Insiders”, the new reality TV series from Netflix, are available on October 21. Coming from Spain, it offers a particular concept in an ultra codified genre. To present the show, the platform relied on a star of “La Casa de Papel”: Najwa Nimri, the interpreter of the charismatic Alicia. To better manipulate us?
Insiders: what is it?
In addition to fiction series, Netflix also offers reality TV programs. We think in particular of The Circle or to High voltage seduction which have been very successful. The advantage of these programs, unlike linear television, is that everything is available for viewing. So no need to wait weeks to know the outcome. For amateurs, happiness is just a remote control away. The latest arrival is Spanish and is called Insiders.
The concept is rather original, and stands out from other programs of the genre. The twelve participants are invited to participate in the final phase of a reality TV show. Except they don’t know they’re going to be filmed without their knowledge during all phases of the test. They think that only part of their place of life is filmed by cameras.
To reinforce the concept, actors interpret the producers ofInsiders. Thus, the aim of the maneuver is to observe whether the candidates behave in the same way when they know they are being filmed, and when they are not aware of it. The program also sheds light on the abuses of this kind of program, which pushes the candidates to the limit.
A star of La Casa de Papel in the casting
To bait viewers, Netflix has pulled out the big bucks. They called on Najwa Nimri, Alicia’s interpreter from La Casa de Papel. She uses all her charisma and her high potential for manipulation to lead the candidates. She is also there to explain the rules of the game to viewers, and to challenge them directly (to better manipulate them?).
The seven episodes ofInsiders are now available on Netflix. Who wants to watch it?
