In troubled waters enjoyed a fine career in theaters, bringing in the handsome sum of $530 million worldwide. The balance was therefore largely positive since the blockbuster’s budget was estimated at 130 million.
The script featured Jason Statham as Jonas Taylor, an experienced diver who was tasked with rescuing members of an aquatic station after a giant shark decided to attack him. Except that we weren’t talking about a simple white shark but rather a much more imposing prehistoric creature.

In troubled waters is not unpleasant to look at if you take it for what it is. To know a series B with a comfortable budget that relies on the show by assuming its fun side.
A sequel on track, with another director and a starless
Following the commercial success of the feature film, a second opus is in preparation. Jason Statham will resume his role for the occasion but changes are to be expected in the team.
First, we already know that Jon Turteltaub will be replaced by Ben Wheatley behind the camera. An intriguing choice, even if the interested party has disappointed in recent years with questionable career choices. Then, we have just learned thanks to variety than actress Li Bingbing would not be there this time.

She was expected to return but it seems that the trend has changed. Even if we don’t know anything about the script at the moment, we suspect that it will still be about an oversized shark who wants to eat humans at all costs. Or maybe several sharks!
Li Bingbing was absent, another Chinese star, Wu Jing, was recruited. Will her character be related to Suyin Zhang? The possibility must be considered.
The shots of this titled suite Meg 2: The Trench in the original version is currently underway across the Channel. No release date is scheduled at the time of this writing.
