Notice to those who had loved Jupiter’s Legacy, canceled after one season, Netflix has put online its derivative animated series on the Super Crooks, which evolve in the universe imagined by Mark Millar.

WHAT DOES IT TALK ABOUT ?

Based on the Super Crooks comics by Mark Millar and Leinil Francis Yu.

The story centers on the supervillain Johnny Bolt and his friends. As the competition for the profession becomes increasingly fierce, Johnny and his friends decide to go to Spain to prepare a huge heist. However, things get complicated when he finds out that his target is actually the greatest criminal of all time.

The Super Crooks series is available in full on Netflix.

A STRONGER BREAK THAN CASA DE PAPEL

Netflix’s takeover of Millarworld a few years ago continues to bear fruit, despite the surprise cancellation of Jupiter’s Legacy after just one season in June 2021. The platform wants to create a franchise on this universe and launched on the 25th. November the animated series adaptation of Super Crooks, super villains who evolve in the same world.

This 13-episode show, adapted from comics written by Mark Millar and drawn by Leinil Francis Yu, follows a motley band of villains, crooks and petty thieves, led by Johnny Bolt and united to prepare for the heist of the century despite the threat of superheroes.

Promising first images of this series headed by Netflix and Studio Bones had been shown at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival and Super Crooks is now available on the platform.

The series is a prequel to the comics and overlaps with the storyline of the comics over time. Mark Millar therefore added plot elements for screenwriter Dai Satō and Leinil Francis Yu provided additional concept art of the rejuvenated characters for the purposes of the anime directed by Motonobu Hori.

Super Crooks being derived from Jupiter’s Legacy, superheroes make their appearance in the animated series, this is the case in particular of Utopian. But the series remains focused on the super villains and takes the time to introduce its characters and dig into their pasts before bringing them together so that they prepare the heist of the century in Spain, in a more fun and better superheroic version. tied up as La Casa de Papel.
