France 2 is broadcasting episodes 3 and 4 of “J’ai menti” this evening, its new suspenseful miniseries starring Camille Lou in the lead role, which was shot in the Basque Country in autumn 2020.
Since last Wednesday, France 2 offers I Lied, a suspense mini-series that follows Audrey, survivor of a serial killer, who, 16 years after her assault, is convinced that he is still alive. Unfortunately, nothing links this murder to the series of crimes committed in the early 2000s by the then nicknamed the killer of Itsas.
To prove it, she will have to face her past and especially her lies. Because that night, when she crossed paths with the killer, she lied. Above all. To everybody…
Led by Camille Lou and Thierry Neuvic, this 6-episode mini-series was shot from September 28 to December 15, 2020 on the Basque coast, in particular in Biarritz, at the Notre-Dame de Socorri chapel, at the Urrugne ball-trap , on the road to the Corniche, and on the Chemin des Crêtes in Urrugne.
Why did you choose to put the cameras in this region? Several reasons motivated Frédéric Berthe, director of J’ai menti, who previously worked on Astrid and Raphaële, Les innocents or Balthazar.
The first is the landscape. The steep coasts of the Basque Country inspired the director: “there is a dramatic and romantic side that is awesome,” did he declare. “It is a heckled coast, which makes it sublime and visually very interesting.”
The other reason is much more personal. This is the director’s first time filming in the region and the prospect of discovering new landscapes enchanted him. “I love working in places I’ve never toured,”He explained. “I had everything to discover. I wanted to put my camera everywhere and film everything. It’s very nice. ”
I Lied is to be discovered every Wednesday evening from 9:05 pm on France 2. The entire series is already available on Salto.
