“How I Met Your Father”, the spin-off of “How I Met Your Mother”, is revealed with a first trailer. Same concept, but this time with Hilary Duff to carry the show and tell about her life as a young adult.
The place to How I Met Your Father
More than fifteen years after the launch of I Met Your Mother and eight years after its final episode, the spin-off How I Met Your Father will finally see the light of day. The concept is the same. Except for this time, it’s not Ted Mosby who tells his children about his adventures as a 30-something New Yorker and all his relationships that built him. But Sophie, embodied for the occasion by Hilary duff. Like its predecessor, she is going to tell her son about her life with his group of friends, his difficulties in finding love, and all the fears that one can have at his age in 2021.
Change of epoch, but no tone, as can be seen with the first trailer (in an article) unveiled by Hulu. The platform which belongs to Disney has indeed taken over since the original series was broadcast by CBS in the United States. However, the style has not changed.
Much love for Hilary Duff
Not new in the approach with a group of friends where everyone is characterized. Characters that should be funny and endearing. But in the end, it’s mostly the sparkling Hilary Duff who makes you want to be interested in this rereading of how I Met Your Mother. The actress we had discovered in Lizzie McGuire in the early 2000s exudes a natural sympathy. Seeing her struggling in love is fun even if you have the intuition that her friend Jesse could become more than a friend. The latter is played by Chris Lowell. The rest of the cast of how I Met Your Father consists of Francia Raisa, Tien Tran, Suraj Sharma, and Tom Ainsley.
The series will begin on Hulu on January 18. In France, nothing has been announced but we can hope to see the show on Disney +. Confirmation should not belong. Until then How I Met Your Mother is present on the Disney platform.
