House of the Dragon atomizes Game of Thrones and other HBO series

In just one episode, House of the Dragon is the most popular series in HBO history. She explodes all competition like Game of Thrones and the channel’s other original productions.

The end and even the final controversial season of Game of Thrones was quickly forgotten. American spectators slumped on their sofas to watch the grand premiere of House of the Dragon. A resounding success!

House of the Dragon crushes all competition

The new HBO series has made short work of its little comrades. Warner Bros. Discovery announced that the first episode of House of the Dragon had amassed an unprecedented 9.9 million viewers for a pilot. Game of Thrones, in 2011, had to settle for 4.2 million viewers. A number that encompasses views on television and on platforms.

This is the largest audience for a first episode in HBO history.

It was wonderful to see millions of fans of Game of Thrones come back with us to Westeros last night. The series brings together an incredibly talented cast and crew who poured their hearts and souls into the production, and we’re thrilled with the positive response from viewers. We can’t wait to share with them what George, Ryan and Miguel still have in store for them this season.

A success that would certainly not have been so important without the hype of GoT. With such a start, the creator of Game of Thrones may well have his MCU.
