“House of Gucci” has been in theaters since November 23. However, if the returns are relatively positive, the Gucci family has a grudge against Ridley Scott’s film. She even threatens to file a complaint!
House of Gucci : return to the Gucci affair
Released on November 24, House of Gucci is Ridley Scott’s new film. Only a few weeks later The Last Duel, the filmmaker is back with a new biopic, this time Gucci family centric. The latter, at the head of a fashion empire, experienced a turning point during the 1970s. Indeed, at that time, the Gucci brand experiences a loss of activity. Thus, Maurizio Gucci (played by Adam Driver) pushed by his wife Patrizia (camped by Lady Gaga), decides to take over the reins of the Gucci empire. Even if it means ousting his own family from the company. Through House of Gucci, Ridley Scott portrays violent betrayals of Gucci family members, until the assassination of Maurizio sponsored by Patrizia. An image that did not really please the heirs of the Gucci family.
As a reminder, House of Gucci brings together a pretty impressive cast. A cast composed, in addition to Adam Driver and Lady Gaga, Jeremy Irons in the skin of Rodolfo Gucci, Jared Leto in the role of Paolo Gucci or even Al Pacino in the clothes of the big boss Aldo Gucci.
Gucci family threatens to file a complaint
The heirs of the Gucci family threatened, earlier this week, to file a complaint against the production of the film House of Gucci. The latter accuse Ridley Scott of having portrayed the Gucci family as “Hooligans”. The Gucci’s wrote a letter published by the Italian news agency ANSA. In this one the Gucci family lists their criticisms of the Ridley Scott film:
The Gucci family reserves the right to take any initiative to protect its name and image, as well as those of those close to it.

The letter specifies that the heirs of the Gucci empire were particularly injured by the portrait of Patrizia Reggiani, the character played by Lady Gaga. The Luxurious Family Blames Ridley Scott for Turning Reality and for presenting this woman as a victim ; and not like a woman convicted of sponsored murder:
A woman convicted of having ordered the murder of Maurizio Gucci is presented as a victim.
The Gucci family also regrets that their loved ones have been presented as “Hooligans, ignorant and insensitive to the world around them”. It remains to be seen whether the heirs of the Gucci family will take their dissatisfaction to the complaint. Today, the Gucci family is no longer involved in the Gucci brand at all. None of the descendants has been a shareholder of the box since 1990. The latter now belongs to to the French group Kering, founded by billionaire François Pinault.
