Halloween kills
In theaters since October 20, 2021
The second installment of David Gordon Green’s Halloween trilogy hits the road for Halloween. Postponed for a year because of the pandemic, Halloween kills takes place just after the events of the previous opus. Still worn by Jamie lee Curtis, the interpreter of the iconic Laurie Strode, Judy Greer and Andi Matichak (respectively daughter and granddaughter of Laurie), the feature film is produced by Jason Blum through his company Blumhouse.
With an estimated budget of $ 10 million, the first film – which was a direct sequel to John Carpenter’s 1978 film – grossed $ 255 million worldwide.
Co-written by David Gordon Green, Danny McBride and Scott Teems, the sequels promise to be awe-inspiring if we are to believe the words of Jamie Lee Curtis, who told Collider in September 2019: “What I love about director and screenwriter Danny McBride is that they made the connection with 40 years of history. Now they’re really going to “undo” the whole first movie, they’re going to bring back all of the characters whose lives were affected by what happened in 1978.
As for the third film, it will literally be a very powerful study of violence. (…) Trust me, I promise you that David’s way of completing this trilogy is sensational.“The last opus, soberly titled Halloween Ends, will be released in October 2022.
Hungry
In theaters since October 27, 2021
Directed by Scott Cooper (Hostiles), of which it is the first horror film, and produced by Guillermo Del Toro, Affamés is adapted from the book by Nick Antosca, The Quiet Boy. The latter also co-wrote the adaptation with Cooper and Henry Chaisson.
In a small mining town in Oregon, a schoolteacher and her police brother investigate a young schoolboy. The secrets of the latter will lead to frightening consequences. It is particularly about Wendigo, a supernatural creature from the mythology of the Algonquian First Nations of Canada.
Worn by Keri Russell, Jesse Plemons, Graham Greene and young Jeremy T. Thomas, the film was postponed several times before finally being released on October 27.
Barbaque
In theaters since October 27, 2021
Fabrice Eboué tries his hand at genre film! Used to changing genre from film to film, the actor, screenwriter, director and comedian embarks on a horrific comedy, with one of the craziest pitches of the year! The story of a butcher couple who will start murdering vegans and selling vegans meat!
If Barbaque remains above all a comedy with a totally crazy humor, the film plays a lot with the codes of the horror film and reserves us some very bloody scenes, which are also worth to the feature film a ban under 12 years.

Last night in Soho
Release November 10, 2021
17 years after Shaun of the dead and his zombies, British director Edgar Wright returns to horror with Last Night in Soho. More serious than the comedy worn by his friends Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, this horror thriller is led by Anya Taylor-Joy, Matt Smith, Thomasin McKenzie and Diana Rigg (whose last appearance in the cinema is).
He follows a young girl, passionate about fashion, who mysteriously manages to travel to the 1960s. There she meets her idol, a dazzling singer in the making. But the London of the 1960s is not what it seems, and time seems to fall apart with obscure consequences.
Asked by MTV in early 2020, Anya Taylor-Joy declared that the images she had seen had terrified her. “It’s very claustrophobic. The colors are really intense. It’s a well-directed acid trip. I think people will really like it. You certainly won’t be bored.“
Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City
Release on November 24, 2021
Five years after the end of the saga initiated by Paul WS Anderson and Milla Jovovich, the Resident Evil saga is getting a makeover in the cinema, with a reboot that is more faithful to the games from which it is inspired.
Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City is inspired by the first two games of the saga. The story takes place in two separate locations: the mansion, where Jill (Hannah John-Kamen), Chris (Robbie Amell) and members of the STARS unit will make funny discoveries in each room. And the police station, …
