On June 16, 2022 “Matrix 4″ is finally also for home cinema. But if you can wait a month longer, you will be rewarded with a special highlight – the limited Steelbook Collection including the first three parts!
For example, while spider-Man: No Way Home” has been available for home cinema since the beginning of April, the ” which was released in cinemas just a week later leave matrix Resurrections” are still a long way off. The long-awaited fourth part of the popular sci-fi saga will not be released until June 16th on DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K Blu-ray (and of course as a stream). But if you want to give the film series a special place on the shelf, it’s best to wait a few more weeks.
Saturn and MediaMarkt are now listing a strictly limited Steelbook Collection for July 21, 2022, in which in addition to “Resurrections” also “Matrix”, “Matrix Reloaded” and “Matrix Revolutions” find their place in separate tin sleeves. The 11-disc set is available to pre-order now:
While it remains to be seen if and when Amazon will also include the box in its range, it is already known that the so-called Déjà Vu Collection all four films on Blu-ray and 4K Blu-ray will contain. The four Steelbooks are housed in a stable box with compartments, like those already used by Warner Mad Max 4K Box* as well as at the MonsterVerse Collection* (but both are now hard to come by). A picture of the edition has already been published abroad, where the box is also released.
Even more “Matrix” in the steel book
Anyone who may already have the first three films on their shelves in other editions and may be quite satisfied with them will get “Matrix Resurrections” but of course also in a single Steelbook – in three different designs!
The Blu-ray variant comes in classic Matrix-Code optics and can currently still be ordered wherever films are sold. With the two 4K variants, however, the whole thing looks a little different: While the “Forced” edition is still available at MediaMarkt, the white steel book called “Pills” is currently completely out of stock. It remains to be seen whether that edition will find its way into a shop again before it goes on sale. However, the three special editions all have one advantage: In contrast to the Steelbook Collection, the individual Steelbooks appearing at “Matrix Resurrections” is expected to be released on June 16th.
