Hard Day is directed by Kim Seong-hun, with Lee Sun-Kyun in the lead role. He had been presented at the Cannes Film Festival in the Directors’ Fortnight section in 2014. A great success, where the genius of the staging combines a police intrigue full of suspense with tasty flashes of black and burlesque comedy. Netflix thus had the idea of offering a French remake. By preserving above all the police dimension of the work, and emphasizing the physical aspect of Franck Gastambide’s performance.
Franck Gastambide and Simon Abkarian in the casting
Tirelessly is directed by Régis Blondeau. It is his first achievement after having served for a long time as a chief operator on several productions, in particular, But who killed Pamela Rose and Teachers. Also in the scenario of this remake, we can be surprised that he did not put in his realization a little more humor and a little more visual ideas. The bill of Tirelessly is indeed very economical in this regard.
On the casting side, Franck Gastambide faces Simon Abkarian. He an always been a very interesting actor when he takes on antagonistic roles. On the side of the other cops, colleagues, and friends of the hero but of whom he must also be wary, we find Michaël Abiteboul and Tracy Goto as. Available to discuss this film, which he talks about with enthusiasm, Franck Gastambide told us how he thought about his character and experienced his confrontation with Simon Abkarian.
