Ryan Reynolds, the star of Deadpool, announced a few weeks ago that he wanted to take a break from his film career. He recently explained the reasons for this choice.
A busy decade for Ryan Reynolds
The last few years have been very prolific for Ryan Reynolds. Rather discreet at the start of his career, he made a giant leap in the mid-2000s by entering the world of superheroes. He is of course remembered in Green Lantern in 2011, but it was in 2009 that the future of his career is written. Indeed, he interprets for the first time the character of Wade Wilson aka Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. A first foray into the world of superheroes, which will allow him, in 2016, to resume this role in the film Dead Pool which will become a huge success. And will propel Ryan Reynolds into a new dimension.
The joking and charismatic anti-hero becomes ultra popular, the film ranks at the first place the biggest hits of all time for an R Rated feature film. A sequel is launched in 2018, and Ryan Reynolds continues the successes.
We saw it in particular in 6 Underground, Life: Unknown Origin, Hitman & Bodyguard, or even recently Free Guy. He also shot other big projects, including Red Notice and The Adam Project for netflix
He explains his desire to stop
A frantic pace in recent years, which have pushed him to announce a break in his career. Indeed, Ryan Reynolds announced a few weeks ago that he wanted to indented movie sets. An announcement that many at first took for a joke, knowing the attraction of the actor for trolls of all kinds. But he couldn’t be more serious.
He recently explained in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter the reasons for this break. And they are very commendable. So he said:
I’m just trying to make time to spend it with my family. Otherwise I could never catch up with him, and he is precious. I will surely stay away from movie sets until the end of the summer. It’s a decision to spend more time at home.
We remind you that Ryan Reynolds is the father of three little girls, aged 7, 5 and 2 he had with his wife Blake Lively.
