Episode 4 of the “Hawkeye” series has just landed on Disney +. The opportunity to see the arrival of a well-known character from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Those who have already seen the episode in question know who we are talking about. Focus:
Hawkeye : the new series of the MCU
It’s now been three Wednesdays that MCU fans have met on Disney + to find out the new episodes of the series Hawkeye. The show, directed by Jonathan Igla obviously brings back Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton. The latter is forced to spend Christmas away from his family when he discovers that the Ronin’s costume has not been destroyed. During his investigation, he crosses paths with Kate Bishop, a young woman played by Hailee Steinfeld, who also appears to be extremely good with a bow and arrows.
While there are only two episodes left until the end of season 1, the pace of the series is accelerating. Last week, fans discovered Echo, a young, deaf woman predisposed to martial arts. This week, another female figure has just entered.
Florence Pugh is back
We had been aware of this return for a while now. Since the post-generic sequence of Black widow to be exact. Indeed, at the end of Cate Shortland’s film, Countess Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus, also present in the series Falcon and the Winter Soldier, went to meet Yelena Belova, the young black widow played by Florence Pugh to make her believe that Natasha Romanoff’s death is Clint Barton’s fault. A way for her to enlist Yelena Belova in a vengeful quest for Falcon Eye.

And that revenge just took shape in episode 4 of Hawkeye. At the very end of this week’s chapter, the new antagonist comes to put a spoke in the wheels of our two archers. As Kate confronts Echo, Falcon Eye comes face to face with Yelena Belova, still camped by Florence Pugh. After a tense fight, Yelena flees, leaving Clint with many questions and concerns. What does a widow do in New York? And why is she attacking him?
What consequences for Clint?
While Yelena is back in Hawkeye, it remains to be seen how its development will take shape. Logically, Yelena is not going to be Clint’s enemy forever. The two characters were very close to Natasha, and if Clint can tell him the truth, Yelena should logically change sides, and potentially lend him a hand in his war against Echo.

But there is another possibility, much darker. What if Yelena resulted in Clint’s death in Hawkeye ? Even if we believe this hypothesis to be average, especially because of the very light tone of the show, it is not totally impossible either. Iron Man, Captain America and Black Widow are already out of the race. So only Thor, Hulk and Hawkeye remain from the original Avengers. And the latter could very well see his story conclude within his own series, in a possibly radical way, with his pure and simple death. Thus, Yelena could assassinate Falcon Eye before the latter can provide his version of events.
Yelena would then go to the dark side, and would remain under the influence of Countess Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. An antagonist who is building a powerful team of alternative heroes, already made up of Yelena therefore, but also the US Agent
