Find out which Game of Thrones actress made an appearance in the seventh film installment in JK Rowling’s saga, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Part 1).
Game of Thrones in Harry Potter? True, since in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – part 1, we can meet on screen an actress who later made a name for herself thanks to the popular HBO fantasy series: Game of Thrones.
This actress is called Michelle Fairley, and the general public knows her mainly as the interpreter of Catelyn Stark in the Game of Thrones series. She held the role for 3 seasons, for a total of 25 episodes broadcast between 2011 and 2013.
She appears in the Harry Potter saga as Hermione Granger’s mother. During the 7th film (part 1), the young witch must make a difficult decision: that of modifying the memory of her parents to make them believe that they have no children, and to make them forget the existence of the wizarding world.
The implicit goal of Hermione’s scheme is to protect her parents against Voldemort, who could use them to extract valuable information from them.
Moreover, if in the film Hermione casts an Amnesia spell for the occasion, this is not the case in the book, where she rather casts False memories. According to Harry Potter creator JK Rowling, these spells both exist in her universe. We can also deduce that False memories is reversible, since Hermione later restores the memory of her parents.
Note that the latter had already appeared on the screen in The Chamber of Secrets, played by two other actors: Tom Knight and Heather Bleasdale.
