Return on “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban”, diffused this evening on TMC, and more particularly on the names of Sirius Black and Remus Lupine, which give us clues on the outcome of the feature film.
Aired this evening on TMC, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, third opus of the magical saga directed by Alfonso Cuarón, offers its viewers a denouement with many twists and turns.
Indeed, in the last part of the film, while the Hippogriff Buck has just been executed by the Ministry of Magic, a large black dog (that Harry thought he saw several times during the feature film) reappears and kidnaps Ron in front of his two friends to drag him into the bowels of an abandoned cabin.
During a discussion rich in revelations also involving Snape and Remus Lupine (the new Professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts), we discover:
- that the big black dog is none other than Sirius Black, wrongly accused of betraying Harry’s parents and escaping from Azkaban penitentiary
- that Remus Lupine is actually a werewolf
We can also add to this the fact that Sirius is in reality the godfather of Harry Potter and one of his best allies, and that Scabbard, Ron’s rat, hides the perfidious Peter Pettigrew, true traitor and accomplice of Voldemort. . But let’s focus on the first two revelations, and the clues that allowed the most discerning viewers to anticipate them.

Indeed, whether it is Sirius Black or Remus Lupine, the surnames of the two characters in question were likely to betray their secrets:
- As is the case with most members of his extended family, Sirius has a first name that refers to a star, located in this specific case in the constellation Canis Major. His last name, on the other hand, means “black” in French. This therefore gives us a “big black dog”, that is to say the animal into which it transforms regularly.
- As for Lupine, his surname is derived from the Latin word “lupus”, which means “wolf”. And her first name directly refers to the legend of Remus and Romulus, the founders of Rome suckled by a wolf. Two elements that allow us to guess his status as a werewolf.
