The fourth installment of “Captain America” continues to pile up the big announcements. The latest: that of the replacement for the late William Hurt to play General Ross. And his interpreter is not just anyone since it is Harrison Ford.
Captain America 4 : a new “role” for Anthony Mackie
In 2019, Chris Evans abandons the Captain America costume that he wore for eight years with brilliance and charisma. As a symbol, his character gives his fetish shield to his faithful partner, Sam Wilson alias Falcon in Avengers :Endgame. However, it took time for the superhero to accept his new role and his new responsibilities.
Something that the series showed rather well Falcon and the Winter Soldier for six episodes. In the end, Sam Wilson puts on the symbolic costume, becoming the new Captain America.



Shortly after the end of the series, a new feature film Captain America was announced by Marvel Studios. Entitled Captain America: New World Order, it will be the first film in the saga that will not be worn by Chris Evans. We will therefore have to see what Anthony Mackie is worth in this new role of America’s superhero. However, the actor will not be alone since he should be accompanied by actor Danny Ramirez (seen in Falcon and the Winter Soldier) who will play Joaquin Torres, a character well known to readers of Marvel comics. Indeed, this is the new Falcon.
In the rest of the cast, we will find two other surprise characters: Sabra (played by Shira Haas) who is known to be a mutant, which increasingly suggests that the X-Men are on their way to joining the MCU. On the other side, Captain America: New World Order will see the return of Samuel Sterns, whom we had not seen since The Incredible Hulk in 2008. And, given his last appearance in this film, the character played by Tim Blake Nelson should return as the supervillain The Leader.
The MCU adventure begins for Harrison Ford
One of the main question marks of this new part of Captain America was the presence or not of General Thaddeus Ross. Indeed, his appointed interpreter in the MCU since 2008 was none other than the late William Hurt, who left us last March at the age of 71. To this, Marvel therefore answered yes by finding him a prestigious replacement: Harrison Ford.



Icon of great Hollywood entertainment with cult sagas such as Star WarsBlade Runner or IndianaJonesthe 80-year-old Hollywood star will therefore reprise the role of this uncompromising military leader that we saw in The Incredible Hulk, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers:Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame and Black Widow.
However, that’s not all! According The Hollywood ReporterHarrison Ford will also reprise this role for the purposes of the film. Thunderbolts scheduled for 2024. Will he join this formidable team of former villains? In the comics, the character is one of them… In the guise of a Hulk! Indeed, the father of Betty Ross is known to hate the highest point Bruce Banner. Following an experiment, he receives a dose of gamma radiation and cosmic waves that transform him into a red-skinned titan. He then calls himself Red Hulk, and has the same superpowered abilities as his green compatriot.
