The sequence of confrontation between Michael Myers and the firefighters in “Halloween Kills” is one of the big highlights of the film. The actor behind the mask, James Jude Courtney, shared a behind-the-scenes look at the filming of this scene.
Michael Myers sets Haddonfield on fire in Halloween Kills
Still directed by David Gordon Green, Halloween kills takes place just after the events ofHalloween released in 2018. We find Laurie Strode in bad shape, after his bloody clash with Michael Myers. The latter, whom she believed to have succeeded in trapping in the basement of his burning house, is actually alive and well. And he leaves the house with the firm intention of killing again and again.
Its first victims are firefighters came to extinguish the fire. A sequence of great graphic violence which lays the foundations of the film (and which did not please everyone). Michael Myers has never been so brutal as in Halloween kills. Laurie says it herself during the film: the more he kills, the more he transcends himself. And the stronger it gets. Nothing seems to be able to stop him, not even when a dozen residents of Haddonfield attack him.
The below of the sequence of the firefighters unveiled
As said before, the scene of the firefighter massacre is a highlight of the film. Because it reveals all animal brutality which Michael Myers demonstrates. He doesn’t have an ounce of humanity in him, only absolute evil. A very high level introduction, which unfortunately contrasts with the intensity of the rest of the film.
Michael Myers’ performer James Jude Courteney shared a behind-the-scenes look at this footage fromHalloween kills on his Instagram account. And more exactly the stunt rehearsals for the shooting of this scene:
As can be seen, this is a real choreography between the actor and the various stuntmen. For a sequence that will be remembered!
Michael Myers will be back again next Halloween in Halloween Ends, which will take place several years after Kills.
