The team of Guardians of the Galaxy have been back on Disney+ for a few days with a new film much shorter than the previous ones. A hors d’oeuvre while waiting for Les Guardians of the Galaxy 3.
Change of tone for Guardians of the Galaxy 3
The Guardians of the Galaxy 3 will be a very different film from the other two installments according to director James Gunn. If fun will always be one of the pillars, this new adventure is more “dramatic and moving”. A not so easy approach for the director who shot this short film “very fun, relaxed, funny” at the same time as GOTG Vol 3 which will therefore be a little more serious.
It was a bit schizophrenic as an exercise because we shot this “Holiday Special” along with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Now, the MCU movie is a pretty dramatic story and contains some very, very emotional stuff. Of course, there is fun, it remains Les Gardiens. But at the same time, it’s a film that has a certain gravity. So, one day we were shooting this Vol. 3 and the next day, we were filming Happy Holidays, something very fun, relaxed, funny and wacky, in the same sets… It was a bit brutal to do.

In this interview, we also learn that James Gunn has not given up on the MCU, despite his second job as co-president of DC Studio. Until Guardians of the Galaxy 3 comes out, you can still catch the Disney Plus series I Am Groot about the gang’s adorable little mascot.
