Appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy 2 as a Ravager boss, Sylvester Stallone will return in the third episode, which is currently filming.
Last week, James Gunn announced that he had started shooting Guardians of the Galaxy 3 with a photo of the main cast: Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Sean Gunn, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff and the new ones Will Poulter and Chukwudi Iwuji.
A group of actors who have just been joined by none other than Sylvester Stallone, who will therefore take over the role of legendary Captain Ravager Stakar Ogord, introduced in the second installment where he settled accounts with Yondu (Michael Rooker).
It was the comedian himself who confirmed his return to the MCU by posting a live video of the shoot on Instagram. He shows the operation of a machine that allows technical teams to duplicate the face of an actor in his absence. Technology regularly used in Hollywood.
Sylvester Stallone is currently a busy man: before reuniting with James Gunn and his cronies, he notably canned his scenes from the fourth Expendables, which will mark his last foray into the franchise he launched in 2010.
He is also in full promotion of his “Director’s Cut” version of Rocky IV, which will contain 40 minutes of additional scenes. No release date has yet been announced for France, unlike Guardians of the Galaxy 3 which will land in theaters on May 3, 2023.
