Very active on social networks, James Gunn has just announced the start of filming of the third installment of Guardians of the Galaxy.
Let’s go for Guardians of the Galaxy 3! While Chris Pratt, aka Star-Lord, had announced to have arrived on the set last October 20, the first clap of the crank finally took place. It was director James Gunn who revealed it on Twitter by sharing a photo of himself surrounded by the cast.
“It was a strange, long and sometimes difficult journey to get there, but the obstacles encountered along the way only made it even more wonderful. Back on set with my Guardians family for day one of filming“, can we read in the caption of the photo.
The historic comedians of the franchise (Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Sean Gunn, Karen Gillan and Pom Klementieff) appear alongside James Gunn, but also Will Poulter, recently recruited to camp Adam Warlock, and Chukwudi Iwuji, whose the role is unknown.
In another tweet, the filmmaker confirmed that the latter had indeed joined the cast. “After working with him on Peacemaker, I wasn’t ready to let go of one of the best actors I’ve ever worked with. So I gave him the role that most of the big Hollywood actors wanted. Talent above all“, he wrote.
Guardians of the Galaxy 3, whose plot is currently being kept under wraps, is due out on May 3, 2023.
