After several months of rumor, and various leaks, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition was finally announced a few days ago by Rockstar Games. But unfortunately for the curious, the American publisher was relatively stingy in precise information concerning its compilation. A probable leak would however come to give some additional indications about it.
GTA The Trilogy – The Defintitive Edition would benefit from improved graphics and gameplay like GTA 5. This is in any case what a text unearthed in the code of the official site of Rockstar Games affirms.
A site user GTAForums discovered a description of the compilation on the publisher’s after-sales service site. And the latter provides additional indications as to the contributions that benefit Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition:
Three iconic games, three epic stories. Play updated versions for the next generation of game-setting classics that are the original Grand Theft Auto Trilogy games: Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. They now benefit from improvements across the board like a new lighting system and brilliant environmental upgrades, high-resolution textures, increased viewing distances, Grand Theft Auto V-style gameplay and aiming system, and even more. All of these bring these beloved worlds to life in a whole new level of detail.
The graphics and gameplay of the Definitive Edition GT expected at the turn
Unsurprisingly, the page on which this text was found is no longer available. The wording of the text and its provenance, however, lead us to believe that it is indeed an official text. If this is the case, these indications give on paper something to rejoice at GTA fans. Indeed, the improvements enjoyed by the three titles seem a priori more extensive than what was initially possible. Caution is required, however, pending official communication.
The release date for the first versions of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition is fast approaching. Rockstar will therefore not be long in officially communicating what this compilation brings.
As a reminder, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition is scheduled for PS5, Xbox Series X | S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and on the Rockstar Games Launcher PC. The latest news is that the compilation is due out before the end of the year on consoles and PC. On iOS and Android, the trilogy will be available during the first half of next year.
