The heartbreaking love story between Charlie (Joe Locke) and Nick (Kit Connor) continues on Netflix. The streaming service has now revealed that a second and third season of the series “Heartstopper’ will be produced by Alice Oseman based on her own comic book series. This shows Netflix’s great confidence in the material. After all, despite its great popularity and enthusiastic response, even a second season could not necessarily be taken for granted.
That “HeartstopperDespite all the enthusiasm, it never got higher than fifth place in Netflix’s own Top 10 lists for English-language series, was a cause for concern. In addition, the streaming service is currently making cuts due to the drop in user numbers.
But now the future of the series is secured – and the stories for a sequel already exist. The first season covers only the plot of the first two comic books by Alice Oseman.
