A movie Gran Turismo is on the program, and it shouldn’t be a feature film worthy of a B series since we already know that it will have a 5-star cast with a realistic scenario. Thus, this film is based on a true story, which features a teenager played by young actor Archie Madekwe who wishes to race cars and who enters a series of Nissan competitions in the hope of becoming a professional driver. In his “quest” he will be supported by a former pilot now retired who will be interpreted by David Harbor (Stranger Things). On his way he will also cross the path of a marketing executive who will be camped by Orlando Bloom that we no longer present to you (Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean).
The good news of the day for Gran Turismo
As the official Sony Twitter account reports, the film is officially on its way physically with the start of filming:
Filming is underway on #GranTurismoMovie – based on the true and inspiring story of a gamer Gran TurismoJann Mardenborough, who won a series of gaming competitions leading him to become a true professional racing driver.
Note that in the comments of the tweet, fans are already complaining that the logo is not identical to that of the game. As a result, a user corrected the photo himself:
Yup, the red stripe on the official image is actually normally blue on the game logo Gran Turismo. The detail is important and we do not joke with fans of the license.
For the record, the film is directed by Neill Blomkamp (District 9) and we don’t have a release date yet. If filming only begins now, we shouldn’t have anything to eat before the end of 2023 at least.
