Gran Turismo 7 could lose its PS5 exclusivity

Adored by many fans, the series Gran Turismo has been part of the Sony team since the dawn of time. A quarter of a century of making the heyday of car racing simulation lovers on PlayStation.

Historically, it is even one of the oldest exclusive licenses of the Japanese brand. But it may well be that it ends up sailing towards new horizons, since Gran Turismo 7 is hot to go off track.

Gran Turismo soon on the same circuit as Forza Motorsport?

Questioned by GT Planet, the creator of the series, Kazunori Yamauchi, affirmed that the license could completely leave the exclusive park of Sony consoles to roll towards the PC.
When asked if he thinks Gran Turismo 7 could be heading for a PC port like Marvel’s Spider-Man Miles Morales, Uncharted 4 or even Horizon Zero Dawn, the latter responds bluntly that it is very likely. The man tempers, however, by ensuring that nothing is planned for the moment and that it would be necessary to ensure that GT7 can keep its technical prowess intact before being transposed elsewhere.

Yes, I think so, but Gran Turismo is a very finely tuned title. There aren’t many platforms that could run the game at 4K 60fps natively. One way to make this possible is to shrink the platform. It is not a very easy subject, but it is of course something that we study and take into consideration.

It could therefore well be that Gran Turismo 7 eventually landed on the grounds of one of its main rivals, Forza Motorsport. We also recall that the license had been spotted during a major information leak from Nvidia GeForce Now, including several games such as Dragon’s Dogma 2, Tekken 8 or the port of God of War on PC, have proven to be accurate. All hopes are therefore still allowed, especially since we know that Sony intends to settle comfortably on a PC. What could be better than wearing one of its biggest and oldest exclusives to attract new players.
