In addition to the video game, we could well have a series titled “Gotham Knights”. A different project that will feature Batman’s adopted son and the children of the Dark Knight’s enemies.
Gotham Knightsanother DC series
Since the end, ofArrowwe cannot say that the Arrowverse (renamed since CWverse) is in top form. Flash holds the house as he can, batman changes actresses like shirt and Superman and Lois have just returned for a season 2. Only Legends of Tomorrow quietly continues its merry way with a season 7 currently being broadcast. However, the CW continues to develop projects from DC comics. The latest is called Gotham Knights of which a pilot has just been ordered. The project had been in the pipeline for a few weeks but was therefore confirmed (via in particular TV Line), along with a spin-off of Walker and a prequel to the supernatural.
Batman is dead!
This new series will take place after the murder of Bruce Wayne. You read correctly, Batman will pass the weapon to the left, leaving his adopted son alone. The latter will then make an unlikely alliance with the children of batman’s enemies. Being suspected of the murder of the Dark Knight, they will have to clear their name. And in a more dangerous Gotham than ever, they could well become the next generation of saviors.
The series will be well different from the video game Gotham Knights, currently in development at Warner Bros. Games. Montreal. In the latter, Batman will also have disappeared but will be replaced by Batgirl, Robin, Redhood, and Nightwing. The series will therefore focus on anti-heroes with, a priori, the offshoots of DC cult villains. In itself, why not. We will have to see what the show will try to tell and how. Currently, the DC series are capable of the best and the worst. And more particularly at the CW. Let’s hope all the same that this pilot produced by Berlanti Productions will be convincing and will lead to a quality show.
