Faster, stronger and also more beautiful, God of War Ragnarok promises to be auspicious as further explained in our preview. Those who like to play with a high framerate or an in-between will be in heaven.
The graphics modes of God of War Ragnarok
All those who have a recent screen will be able to have fun with God of War Ragnarok. Depending on the TV, Santa Monica Studio’s game will feature four graphics modes in total. Everyone will have access to the traditional 4K 30fps “Resolution” and 60fps “Performance” modes, likely in dynamic 4K. But if you have a TV with HDMI 2.1, there will be more options.
In this case, and provided that the “High framerate” feature is activated, two other modes will be unlocked. A “Resolution” mode in 4K at 40fps and the “Performance” which aims for 120fps. It is possible that in the latter, the resolution is 1080p but we will have to wait for confirmation.
But the real good news is the 40fps mode. Since the launch of the PS5, PlayStation Studios have regularly made sure to offer such a refresh. This allows for better fluidity while maintaining greater graphical fidelity than at 60fps. The best of both worlds.
