God of War Ragnarok: no more possible delay, it's confirmed

With a big game you can sometimes expect everything and you are never safe from a last minute delay. But for God of War it won’t.

Everything is possible in video games, as we have seen with the latest big game from Ubisoft: Skull and Bones, which was postponed at the last moment to March 9, 2023. Inevitably, a game like God of War Ragnarök is subject to many concerns. Will the game be on time? Are we going to have the right to yet another AAA delay?

Sony Santa Monica reassures God of War Ragnarok

Thus Sony Santa Monica announced very good and encouraging news on Twitter concerning its new God of Warthanking his fans for the support:

We’re thrilled to announce that #GodofWarRagnarok has gone Gold!

On behalf of SMS and all of our partners, thank you to the fans for supporting us throughout development. We’re almost at launch and can’t wait to see you play on November 9! ?

So the game God of War long awaited has passed Gold. It’s a term used when development is complete and ready to be duplicated and distributed (on disc, for download, etc). Everything else will come later via updates. Recently, we could learn that in the 20 hours devoted to the scenario, there will be around 3h30 of cinematics but also 16h30 of playable sequences. A game that will therefore leave a considerable place to the narration.

God of War Ragnarok will be available on November 9, 2022 on PS5 and PS4 and later on PC. If we follow Sony’s logic and its new policy in this area, we should see it arrive in 1 year, in November 2023 on our computers.
