As is often the case, graphics cards end up leaking their specifications before their announcements. No one will escape it, not even the RTX 3080 12 GB.
For once, another graphics card from Nvidia can be discovered before its time. This is the famous GeForce RTX 3080 12 GB, which was to be present at CES 2022. Sometimes present, sometimes postponed due to shortage, the site VideoCardz – which has nothing more to prove on the subject – finally obtained the details of its specifications.
The RTX 3080 12 GB in figures:
- 8960 CUDA cores
- 70 RT Cores
- A 384-bit memory bus
- 912 GB / s memory bandwidth
The only problem and not the least: its hashrate is more important for crypto-mining than the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 10 GB, with almost 20% more performance. This figure therefore risks condemning it ex officio and making it as unobtainable by ordinary people as its big and small sisters, since it risks quickly falling between hands the claws of minors of all stripes.
An Nvidia SUPER card?
We could therefore wonder at length about his performance in video games, but what good is it? The graphics card is in any case very clearly similar to what Nvidia classifies in its SUPER nomenclature. The technical upgrade should be felt on the thermal envelope with a TDP from 340 to 350 W, almost as much as the RTX 3080 Ti.
The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 12GB could launch between mid-January and the end of January, according to the latest rumors. We will have to wait until CES 2022 (which will be held from January 5 to January 8, 2022) to find out if the manufacturer offers a clear policy to fight against mining.
