Elizabeth Olsen, the MCU’s Wanda Maximoff, has just revealed that she auditioned for the role of Daenerys Targaryen in the “Game of Thrones” series. An “awful” experience according to the American actress.
Elizabeth Olsen, who plays the superheroine Wanda Maximoff in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, could have played one of the main roles of … Game of Thrones! The 32-year-old American actress, recently seen in the credits of the WandaVision series, has just revealed at the microphone of The Hollywood Reporter that she had auditioned for the role of Daenerys Targaryen, ultimately held on screen by Emilia Clarke.
A good memory, these tests for Game of Thrones? Not really ! “I auditioned in front of the casting director’s assistant in a small venue in New York. There was just a camera on me, with them reading the script.”, she recalls. “I was doing Khaleesi’s speech when she came out of the fire. It was awful. I was not called back.”
In 2019, Elizabeth Olsen had already mentioned this failed Game of Thrones audition. “I should have stopped right in the middle. I think that’s what I would do now.”, she declared on the set of Live with Kelly and Ryan. “If I was going through this today, I would say, ‘I think I’m not doing the role justice, I hope you call me back later for something else.’ ‘
Elizabeth Olsen will be reunited with her character of Wanda Maximoff in almost a year, on March 23, 2022, for the purposes of the feature film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
