While the calendar tells us the official opening of October, the industry is now entering its home stretch until the year-end orgy, synonymous with the traditional Game Awards.

After a 2020 edition marked by a total absence of public and guests on the set, it is in person that the ceremony of Game Awards 2021, as announced by its creator and presenter Geoff keighley :

Write it down in your calendars

Thursday, December 9

THE GAME AWARDS

Live and in person from the Microsoft Theater
In Los Angeles
And streaming everywhere else

A celebration of video game culture

The first sentence marked with the seal of the capital letter obviously reminds us that this year again we will have to expect a team of WORLD PREMIERE and other shattering announcements, and the promise to return to the face-to-face formula obviously leaves us hoping to see some known heads of the industry, after a 2020 edition where Geoff Keighley in person, was alone on stage.

Directly to you?

If the mystery obviously hovers like a certain Julo over the casting and selection of this 2021 vintage, the good news is twofold. The Canadian has indeed also announced the return on stage of the Game Awards Orchestra, still led by composer Lorne Balfe. The latter is used to video game collaborations alongside a certain Hans Zimmer.

If the 2020 edition was largely successful The Last of Us Part II, you can now tell us your wildest predictions in the comments below, knowing that with a wet finger, Returnal seems for the time to win the favor of the editorial staff of Gameblog.

The challenge will be sizeable for the Game Awards 2021, as last year’s vintage broke audience records, attracting some 83 million spectators in the midst of a covid pandemic. See you on December 9 to discover the announcements of the Game Awards 2021!
